THE HERO THREAD

Hjältråden is a non-profit organization that targets Sweden's children's healthcare system to assist in providing good care for seriously ill children. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families. To create a context and increase communication and understanding of the child's situation. With our help, the child creates his own journal using beads. Each time the child receives a pearl, the child's HEROIC COURAGE is honored . Suffering is alleviated and the experience of human care is affirmed. Which givesSECURITY and JOY .

THE VALUES OF THE HERO THREAD

We who run Hjältråden really love what we do. We believe it is important that we share a common value base. We are passionate about the equal value and well-being of children, which is the essence of our common approach. Together, we have designed three watchwords that reflect everything we do and stand for.

HEROISM

We want to be the common thread through the hospital stay for all seriously ill children. Hand out Bravery Medals for every step they take along the way. We want to stand by, cheer on both the child and the family in the fight to strengthen their heroism. No child has chosen to be seriously ill. Together we become stronger!

JOY

Our most important purpose is to provide energy forward. To finish various procedures with something strengthening. So that they can proudly show off what they have achieved. What they have experienced is rarely visible on the outside and can be difficult to convey. Seriously ill children have to endure so much and have been polished into society's most beautiful PEARLS, each in their own unique way. Making seriously ill children feel included and important is the basis of joy.

TRYGGHET

From a child's perspective, we have created a hospital language built of pearls. To give seriously ill children the opportunity for participation, communication and knowledge about their own person. We want to make visible which heroes the children are and, through understanding and support from the environment, give the children the security they deserve. We do not see seriously ill children based on a diagnosis, but want to respond based on the need for care.

WHO FOUNDED THE HERO THREAD

William Westermark

FOUNDER OF THE HERO THREAD

No one is their diagnosis, we are all children first and foremost. Often I have to take on responsibilities that shouldn't be needed by a child. My experience is that it is difficult for others to understand what I do when I am in hospital.

Sara Westermark

FOUNDER AND GENERAL SECRETARY

Is a qualified Pediatric Nurse with 20 years of experience from inpatient and outpatient care. The fact that I then gave birth to William, who was in great need of specialist care, made me gain another dimension.

Moa Mökander

CHAIRMAN AND COMMUNICATOR

It is extremely important for all people to be seen and listened to. Being the one who actually sees and listens is a quality I have. I want to know why you are you and create the opportunity for you to find your place in life

Linda Missouri

STYRELSELEDARMOT - Kommunikatör, Sociala medier och Insamling

How a child communicates is not the primary thing, but that a child is listened to, understood and seen is what is important to me. I dedicate myself to that in my daily work as a nanny.

Kristina Lagerström

BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND COORDINATORS

Driftig är ett ord som beskriver mig väl. Jag är både kreativ och resultatinriktad. Runt mig händer det alltid saker. Jag har en erfarenhet som jag hoppas kunna inplementera i hjältetrådens verksamhet
